Prep Teachers Nominated For National Teaching Awards

Christ Church has a record number of Prep School teachers nominated for the National Excellence In Teaching Awards (NEiTA) Foundation’s ASG Inspirational Teaching Awards.

Eight teachers have been nominated for the prestigious awards, which honour and recognise inspirational teachers. Members of the Christ Church community have nominated Maria Hodges, Andrew Robin, Jerome Griffin, Terri Gale, Peter Williamson, Sally Lee, Barbara Bosich and Jay Pyefinch.

Head of the LW Parry Preparatory School Richard Wright said the nominations were a testament to the dedication and passion of the teachers. “It is wonderful that parents have taken the time to nominate their sons’ teachers for the awards,” Mr Wright said. “Eight teachers is quite a remarkable result in my experience.”

The theme of this year’s awards is ‘Great Teachers Lead the Way’ and is a celebration of the role great teachers play in inspiring and leading the community. The NEiTA 2010 ASG Inspirational Teaching State and Territory Awards will be presented to 60 teachers nationally. Of those, 10 will receive National Awards in 2011 and a professional development grant of $5000.
