CCGS Tops Language Exam Results

Once again, Christ Church language students produced some fantastic results in German and French competitive examinations during first semester. In German, all students from Years 8 to 12 competed in the DAS (Deutsch Australischer Sprachverein) examinations with many achieving outstanding results.

In Year 11, James Prindiville received first prize and a high distinction with a mark of 95.5%. In Year 10, Ben McAllister also won first prize and a high distinction with a mark of 90.5%. Ben and James were invited by TAGWA (German Teachers Association) to be presented with their prizes and certificates at MLC on 16 September.

In Year 8, three of our boys were among the top 10 performers in the State. They were William Kermode (4th) with a score of 94%, Alistair Morgan (6th) with 92% and Harry Smallbone (7th) with 92%.

Head of Languages Elisabeth Gerber congratulated the boys on a fantastic job in representing their school and their hard work and enthusiasm for German.

Ten Christ Church French students have been selected to participate in the oral examination of the Alliance Française on 18 October. Based on their written exam, only the top 30 students for each category in the State are selected. “We have never had so many make it through,” Mrs Gerber said.
