FROM THE HEADMASTER

There is a single matter for my comments to you this week and that is the way in which the School has been impelled to deal with the influenza H1N1 human swine flu. Click HERE to view a letter that has been produced by the Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia for communication to parents. This letter explains the circumstances associated with travel from Victoria and overseas countries.

Could I please ask that parents be very mindful of these Education Department/Department of Health expectations.

CENTRE FOR ETHICS

Dr John Clarkson – "Relationships and the Teenage Brain", Wednesday 10 June

john-clarkson-CFE.pngRelationships are not easy at the best of times. How we think, feel and respond to specific situations, friends, family and important ‘others’ in our lives, is but a reflection of what cards have been dealt to us individually, from the deck of genetics, parenting, education, happy or traumatic events and so on. All these elements contribute to the development of our mind- brain interface by influencing and determining the brain’s neurochemical mix. This neuro-chemical mix is responsible for the generation of our thoughts and feelings and ultimately determines how, we act and re-act to life in general or more specifically, within relationships. General practitioner and analytical psychotherapist Dr John Clarkson will present a talk on "Relationships and the Teenage Brain" on Wednesday 10 June, 7.30pm in the Senior Staff Room. This is a free event. For further information, please phone Teresa Scott on 9442 1705. Click HERE to read a biography about Dr John Clarkson.
