The Christ Church Firsts Tennis Team has taken out the PSA Championship for the second time in three years. The undefeated squad won the 2015 Corr Cup* after their final game against Aquinas.

Teacher in Charge of Tennis, Drew McDonald, congratulated the boys on their success throughout the season and their comprehensive win in the final fixture.

“It was a great season of tennis, wrapping up with our Firsts taking out the equally undefeated Aquinas team 20 sets to 4,” Mr McDonald said.

“Every member of our team, players and coaches alike, should be congratulated on their efforts and the commitment they afforded the season.”

The First VIII team members included Captains of Tennis Angus Barber (Year 12) and Matthew Wang (Year 12), Vice Captain Tyler Hung (Year 12), Louis Corker (Year 11), Timothy Gray (Year 11), Christian Harding (Year 10), Oliver Henderson (Year 10), Lewis May (Year 11) and Stefano Tudor (Year 12), all of which played in the winning Corr Cup Team of 2013.

Director of Sport Anthony Lynch commended the boys and praised Drew and the coaches, staff member Darren McPartland and old boy David Culley on the success of the tennis program.

“With wins in 2013 and 2015, it is evident our tennis program is going from strength to strength,” Mr Lynch said.

“Five boys from the winning team will be continuing on next year so I’m looking forward to another strong season in 2016.”

Team Captain Angus Barber was this year’s recipient of the Old Boys’ Association Cup for Best PSA Contribution, while his Co-Captain Matthew Wang won the WA Hockey Association Cup for the School’s Singles Champion. The winner of the Rickey Draper Cup for Best Doubles Player went to Oliver Henderson.
