Christ Church continued to perform strongly and competitively across the PSA summer codes this year, finishing in the top four for all sports. Director of Sport Anthony Lynch said the results were not surprising given the School’s dominance in many codes over the past 10 years.

After winning the Head of the River Regatta on Saturday 22 March, the remaining codes competed in their final round of the season against Guildford last week. The final PSA placings were:

First – Rowing (Head of the River)

Second – Cricket, Swimming, Tennis

Third – Water Polo

Fourth – Basketball, Volleyball

Mr Lynch said just one win separated the Firsts in cricket and tennis from becoming PSA champions and in water polo, between finishing in third and second place. “The results are great but hardly surprising given our strength across many of the codes over the past decade,” Mr Lynch said.

In cricket, it was the School’s best result since 2003 and in volleyball, the best result since 2008. “It was really good to see our volleyball players improve this year and show a shift to becoming more competitive in line with our other codes,” he said.
