Fathers To Benefit From Professor’s Advice

Professor Bruce Robinson
Professor Bruce Robinson

Professor Bruce Robinson offered fathers practical ideas for positively engaging with their children at a talk presented by the Centre for Ethics on Wednesday night.

The author of the best-selling book Fathering in the Fast Lane also discussed his latest research covered in a new parenting DVD titled What Kids Really Need From Their Dads.

Canon Frank Sheehan was delighted with the number of people who attended the event. “We had just under 100 in the audience,” he said. “The overwhelming majority were fathers seeking guidance and support in their vital role.”

Canon Sheehan said Prof Robinson, together with Professor Donna Cross, had done some important research in the area of parenting and had produced some very helpful material, which was made available on the evening.

Prof Robinson and Prof Cross were the project leaders of the Fathering Project of UWA and Edith Curtin University. For more information on the project go to www.thefatheringproject.org

The Centre for Ethics was pleased to have hosted such a helpful evening.
