Unforgettables Christmas Lunch

dsc_0497.jpg

The Unforgettables Christmas Lunch, held on Wednesday 14 December, was a triumph with a record attendance of 40 members. This wonderful group of old boys, who attended Christ Church in the 1940s, really enjoyed the opportunity for fellowship and lunch in the School Refectory. Most brought along Christmas presents to be given to children from underprivileged families through the agencies of Anglicare.

Following lunch, the gents were thrilled and surprised to have Matthew Gabriele (1997) talk to them about his 2011 climb to the summit of Mt Everest. Matthew brought his climbing gear, for the Unforgettables to inspect. Following Matthew’s departure, the Unforgettables singers, Six of the Best, sang the School Song of 1937, which was recorded for the School Archives. The singers included Peter Lynn (1945), John Doust (1948), Bun Lynn (1949), John Milner (1945), John North (1945) and Tony Smith (1950). After bountiful calls for an encore, the singers gave us a war cry:

One, Two, Three who are we?
We are the boys of CCG
Four, Five, Six,
We have got them in a fix
Seven, Eight, Nine,
We beat them every time!
