Preparatory School

The LW Parry Preparatory School appreciates, respects and celebrates the diversity of boys. The community of parents, students and staff work together to achieve the School Mission 'Boys educated to know, to do, to live with others and to be' (UNESCO 1996).

A crucial element of our success is the 70 motivated members of staff who work with parents to develop the whole boy - boys that value literature and numeracy skills, the ability to think for themselves, boys who build their confidence and learn how to relate to and with others, who learn and cherish moral values, boys who love a challenge and have a hunger to learn and boys who are, most importantly, happy.

The Preparatory School has over 480 boys who share the campus, timetable and facilities with the Senior School. It retains its own Library (to view the website, click here), Art facilities and Preparatory Music Centre. The Preparatory School caters for boys and their individual developmental needs and focuses on the fundamentals of education: writing, spelling, mathematics, grammar and phonics. We encourage boys to develop personal values, virtues and emphasise the importance of a handshake and eye contact.

Boys are engaged in a wide range of co-curricular activities which inspire learning and teamwork through a myriad of opportunities.

The Preparatory School is a Pre-Primary to Year 6 school that caters for boys from the ages of 5 to 12 with a focus on the core areas of English and Mathematics. Specialist areas and Co-Curricular activities include Art, Music, Physical Education, Sport, Library, Cultural Studies, Languages, Chess Club and after school Art.
