CCGS Welcomes New Boys for 2011
About 170 enthusiastic boys had their first taste of life as a Christ Church student this week as part of the School’s Orientation Programme for 2011.
In the Preparatory School, the 55 boys joining Years 2 to 6 had a chance to see the School in action as they joined their future classmates in range of activities. The day included ‘getting to know you’ games, sports and arts activities, a library visit as well as some assessments in mathematics and reading.
In the Senior School, 80 new boys as well as 100 current students got a glimpse of life as a Year 7. Head of the Senior School Roger Bayly introduced the boys to the School’s house system and their allocation for 2011, followed by a tour of the southern campus. The boys had a chance to befriend one another over lunch, games and in their house groups.
Earlier in the week, 40 boys starting Year 8 in 2011 met the current Year 7 cohort. The morning included testing for some new students followed by lunch and a chance to get to know each other at lunch in Sandover Hall.
