Preparatory School farewells Year 6 boys
On the final day of term, Years 4 to 6 students and their families gathered in the Chapel for the LW Parry Preparatory Prize Giving Assembly.
The special assembly rewards students’ in the areas of academic excellence and citizenship, marks the transition of Year 6 boys from the Prep School to the Senior School and celebrates the year that was through speeches and performance.
In his address, Head of the Preparatory School Richard Wright thanked staff for their contribution throughout the year and congratulated the Year 6 boys on their leadership and for setting a wonderful tone for the School.
Each Year 6 class performed a dance routine to a song performed by the Prep Rock Workshop Band. Presented by their teacher, each boy shook the hand of Mr Wright, followed by Headmaster Garth Wynne, to mark their farewell from the Prep School and welcome into the Senior School.
Year 6 teacher Terri Gale, who has worked as a dedicated Year 5 and 6 teacher, including a highly valued period acting as deputy in the Preparatory School, was acknowledged as she leaves the School for retirement after seven years.
The Yahoos Choir and the Year 6 boys sang It’s Time to Go Together, which was a moving finale for the assembly.
