Spelling Bee Has CCGS Abuzz
CCGS’ top spellers from Years 5 to 8 battled it out at the Interschool Spelling Bee, held at Christ Church, on Wednesday night.
The competition, an initiative of Year 4 teacher Brad Hilliard, drew more than 80 students from most of the PSA boys’ schools as well Padbury Catholic Primary School.
The participating schools entered four students from each year group in the knockout-style event. Top performers for Christ Church on the night were Weiyuan Fan, who was the Year 8 runner-up; Bryce Lim, Year 7 runner-up; Joseph Brough, Year 5 runner-up; and Charlie Johnson, from Year 4, who finished in the top of the Year 5 competition.
First and runner-up place getters were presented with medallions in the Old Boys'Gallery and cheered on by the many parents who attended the event. Congratulations to the boys who participated and to Mr Hilliard on co-ordinating a highly successful event.
