NAPLAN Results
The National Assessment Program for Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) commenced in 2008 for all Australian schools. All boys in the Preparatory School follow a primary curriculum in the key learning areas of the Arts, English, the Library, Languages, Mathematics, Science, Physical Education and Religious Education.
There is a strong emphasis on the inter-relationships between various subjects, which often leads to some learning areas coming under the heading of Integrated Studies.
Specialist teachers in Art, Cultural Studies, Music, Languages and Library lessons are provided within the classroom teachers’ programmes so that appropriate planning for integrated learning takes place. They may also be involved in helping to develop themes by adapting their objectives to the programme of the classroom teacher. Specialist teachers also take Physical Education.
