Pre-Primary Boy's Spicy Encounter

The spirit of Christ Church Grammar School’s Pre-Primary students was captured by creative bouquet garnish this month.

As part of the ‘Spicy Encounter’ project, parents were asked to select five herbs or spices and write why they reflect the unique character of their son.

Barbara Bosich, Director of the Early Learning Centre, said the project gave parents the opportunity to look at the essence of their child, and the other students, in a different light.

“It made the parents look at the exceptional dispositions of each boy,” said Mrs. Bosich. “We’ve had a great response from the parents. Some have gone to so much effort but the simple are as lovely and touching as the complex.”

Adored by the boys, the varying displays are creative, meaningful and loving. Examples of comments from parents follow: “Peppermint for his refreshing and everlasting energy”, “Lavender for his relaxed, easy approach to life and who sees the bright and beautiful side of things”, “Vanilla Bean as he flavours our hearts with his sweet nature and completes our lives” and “Saffron – a much treasured old world spice that was once much sought after, expensive and hard to find (much like him at after school care pick up time).”
