Time Of His Life

We make some of our very best friends during our school years and often, that sense of mateship carries us into adulthood.

Ben Hoile is from Broome and has been boarding with Christ Church for six years. Many people find it nerve-wracking moving to the city but not Ben – he was very eager to come to Perth in Year 7 and excited to be entering Christ Church and an environment where so many opportunities are offered.

The best thing about boarding at Christ Church, Ben says, is the strong friendships he has made. Being able to live together over a long term while getting to know each other is a great advantage. Boarding is a great way to grow up, although a great sense of humour is required for communal living!

Ben received many a good recommendations from his father, Mr Victor Hoile, a Christ Church Old Boy who told Ben many stories about his time at school, saying it was the “time of his life”. Ben encourages boys in other towns to come and board, that the facilities are great and boarding is a fun place to be for a young boy. “There’s lots on offer”, he says.

Ben is still undecided in whether or not he will attend university and we wish him well in his chosen path.
