Rhodes Scholarship to Christ Church old boy Andres Noé (2008) – congratulations
Published on: 16 December 2015
A highlight this year was the October announcement that Andres Noé has been awarded the WA Rhodes Scholarship for 2016. The six state finalists included three CCGS old boys with Andres being successful. After the announcement Andres said, “School had a great impact on who I am today. Army cadets, the sailing team and teachers such as Monica Mackay, Brad Downing, Andrew Greig and Margaret Brophy provided me with a sense of self through balance… Professor John Newnham (1969) helped see me into medical research and I did a year of neonatology/obstetric research in 2014. I’m now about to finish medical school!… Being offered the Rhodes Scholarship and with it the opportunity to study at Oxford University is a tremendous and humbling honour that confers a great deal of responsibility. Public service is to me, of the highest esteem.”
Congratulations to Andres on his magnificent achievement.
