Shark Bay expedition a memorable adventure
During the first week of the school holidays, eight CCGS boys and six St Hilda’s girls took part in Venture Plus – a sea kayaking expedition in the Shark Bay World Heritage Area. The expedition, designed to give Year 11 boys who enjoyed the Year 10 Venture experience an opportunity to participate in further adventure activities, is now in its fourth year.
Classroom learning adds value to Venture experience
Cannibalism, hypothermia, sending your best friend to almost certain death to save yourself, deadly snakes and dangerous waterborne bacteria were all topics of discussion as part of the Year 10 Add-Venture programme this week. Now in its second year, the programme offers boys three days of Walpole-focused learning experiences prior to the Venture expedition, which begins next week.
Year 7 Camp builds on awareness and friendships
The first of the Year 7 camps got underway at the end of March with the last camp held in the final week of Term 1. For boys new to Christ Church in 2013, it was their first taste of the School’s comprehensive outdoor education programme at its home base, Kooringal.
