Elite athletes visit Prep School

Hockey is played across all age groups at Christ Church – from our Minkey programme in Year 1 through to our First XI side.
At all levels, the Christ Church Hockey Club aims to provide a strong competitive programme balanced with an appreciation of the value of teamwork, sportsmanship and enjoyment of the game. Our coaching structure encourages attacking, free flowing and high scoring hockey, with a focus on the importance of position play and tactics in the senior years.
The club encourages senior boys to get involved in umpiring and provides an umpires course for Year 11 boys prior to umpiring Year 8 and 9 games on Friday afternoons. Old boys are also encouraged to contribute to the club through coaching a team, where they work closely with Christ Church staff members, or umpiring.
Over the years, the club has developed ties with many interstate and international schools, and offers a pre-season tour to Victoria.
PSA Premierships
Since joining the PSA in 1957, Christ Church has been PSA premiers the following years: 1966, 1967, 1973, 1986, 2002, 2004, 2007 and 2010.
Christ Church has finished in the top three schools in nine of the past 11 years – placing first on four occasions, second on four occasions and third on one occasion.
