Boys in red win Winter Sports Carnival

With a bye in the PSA fixtures, Senior School boys pulled on their house colours to compete in the House Winter Sports Carnival at McGillivray Oval last Friday. Queenslea House, who won overall in cross country and rugby, edged out Jupp by one point to win the event.

Fine weather provided ideal conditions for the fun sports event, in which the houses battle it out for Beatty Cup points in football, soccer (two divisions), handball, rugby and cross country. The format of the carnival allows seniors boys to watch, encourage and support Year 7 to 9 boys during their games while juniors see the Year 10 to 12s in action.

The final result was Queenslea and Jupp respectively, followed by Craigie, Hill, Wolsey Romsey, Noake and Moyes.

While the Queenslea boys took out the cross country and rugby, runner-ups Jupp dominated in both soccer divisions. Hill and Noake finished equal first in football, with Craigie leading the charge in the handball.
