Football coup for Christ Church
Christ Church is thrilled to announce that four-time WAFL premiership coach John Dimmer will coach the School’s First XVIII football team in 2012 and beyond.
Mr Dimmer, who was senior coach at South Fremantle Football Club while working part-time at Christ Church, returns to the full-time staff this year. Mr Dimmer has worked at Christ Church for over 10 years and was the School’s first Director of Sport for the first three years.
Headmaster Garth Wynne said the School was thrilled to secure a teacher and coach of Mr Dimmer’s caliber to help lead the School’s football club. “Christ Church has an excellent record in sport, however, ongoing success in football has eluded us over the years,” Mr Wynne said.
“We are thrilled to have someone of John’s credentials to help improve our boys’ performance and help Teacher in Charge Jamie Foster in crafting an exceptional football programme for the School.”
Mr Dimmer said he was looking forward to helping the football programme at Christ Church where he plans to focus on the continued development of basic football skills and tactical positioning with the boys.
Mr Dimmer’s remarkable coaching career includes 12 premierships in 25 seasons as a senior coach or assistant coach at South Fremantle, West Perth, Claremont, Fremantle and amateur club West Coast.
He has coached 284 league matches with 182 wins including flags at South Fremantle in 2005 and 2009 and at West Perth in 1995 and 1999.
