Marimba musician selected for Perspectives showcase

Both the Preparatory and Senior schools enjoyed musical performances by 2011 leaver Jordan Berini recently. The old boy has been selected to perform in next week’s Performing Arts Perspectives at His Majesty's Theatre.

The showcase features 25 performances in dance, theatre and music, representing the best of the WACE 2011 performing arts students. Jordan, a marimba player, is one of just seven students to be chosen from the 400 music students across the State.

Jordan, who begins a Bachelor of Arts (Classical Percussion) at the WA Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) this week, returned to Christ Church to perform at both the Prep and Senior school assemblies. The Senior School heard the piece Jordan will play at the showcase – Concerto 1 for Marimba (Greetings) by Ney Rosauro - accompanied by Dr Martin Lamb, who will also accompany him on his performance on Thursday 8 March.

The Performing Arts Perspectives will be held over Wednesday 7 March and Thursday 8 March, at 7.00pm, at His Majesty's Theatre. Tickets are available from BOCS ticketing on 9484 1133.
