Music Scholars Prepare for Annual Recital
Edmund Xu (Year 9) was amongst a group of talented Christ Church music students busily rehearsing for the Scholars’ Recital this week. The evening recital, to be held on Tuesday 22 June in the CLC foyer at 7.00pm, will feature solo pieces from Senior School music scholarship recipients.
Edmund, who is on a scholarship for the double bass, will perform two pieces at the annual recital. He also plays the violin and will perform a piece on each instrument accompanied by Dr Martin Lamb. Edmund, who has been playing the double bass for the past three years, said he was drawn to the instrument’s size. “In primary school, I thought it looked cool because it was so big,” he said.
