Linga Video

The annual Year 12 Valedictory Assembly was an opportunity for staff, students and family members to give a formal farewell to the Class of 2009.

Headmaster Garth Wynne presented prizes and awards to the cohort, including the Rosalie Helen Parry Memorial Prize for the Dux of the School, which was awarded to Bo An Lu.

Director of Studies Bruce Ruthven (who has worked at the School from 1985 – 1989 and 1999 onwards) was the guest of honour and gave an inspiring speech challenging the Year 12s to apply what they had learned into all walks of life as they leave Christ Church.

Captain of School Lachlan Macpherson addressed the School community on his perspective of what makes a Christ Church boy. He highlighted many diverse opportunities and experiences that he had shared with the Class of 2009 over the last few years, including Year 10 Venture.

In the spirit of tradition, the Year 12s raced outside for the last ‘linga’ in the Chapel Forecourt – their enthusiasm was evident as they repeated the ritual three times. Shirts were signed and the boys will join their parents, staff and special guests for the Valedictory Service and Dinner this evening.
