This month our Year 9 Kooringal camps commenced with fantastic weather. Ryan Miles, Director of Kooringal, has informed me that all the boys are loving the experience. We are blessed to have a dedicated outdoor space where we can offer boys a unique educational adventure that teaches valuable life skills, builds confidence, resilience and independence. They may not know it now, but the challenging experiences integral to our unique and specific programs, such as Kooringal, Leeuwin and Venture, will position them well to discover their potential and develop skills to overcome obstacles and hurdles that will confront them throughout their lives.

On Tuesday night I ventured to the vibrant and exciting Ellington Jazz Club in Northbridge. The Christ Church boys performed a number of Jazz tunes, all showcasing the extraordinary musical talent that we have in the School. Thank you to the Music Department for arranging such a superb evening.

In August the School will be screening Screenagers. This award-winning documentary successfully explores the impact of the digital age on children and how to help families minimize harmful effects as we strive for that important balance. Hear from authors and brain scientists as they discuss solutions on how we can empower our children to best navigate the digital world. We are only permitted to screen this once so please don’t miss out and book your tickets here.

This week I was also thrilled to witness the Independent Primary Schools Association (IPSHA) Performing Arts Festival at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. The boys performed incredibly well and to such a high standard. My congratulations to our Year 5 performers and to Mr Ryan Dawson and Miss Jasmine Jeffs for making it all happen.

The Annual Giving program provides our community with the opportunity to support scholarships and building initiatives for the benefit of all current and future boys. If you have already given to one of our programs this year, we thank you. If you are considering donating, please click here to make your donation and join me in giving a gift that will positively impact all Christ Church students.

This is our last CCGS World for Term 2, and I would like to wish everyone a wonderful break from the school routine and a safe and relaxing holiday.
