Last Thursday night was the wonderful culmination of many hours of training by the members of our Senior School swimming team and dedicated coaches and parents. Congratulations to everyone involved in preparing the boys for what was a great result (see final results and new records). Congratulations also to our Prep School team who came 2nd in their Inter-school Swimming Carnival.

This week we officially launched the Principal’s Bike Ride 2018. This event has been designed to bring together the bike riders in our community, and for safety reasons the ride is for proficient peloton riders only. If you would like to participate, please register online and visit the Uniform Shop to purchase a riding top that has been specifically designed for the event.

On Saturday our rowers take to the waters of Champion Lakes as they compete in the Head of the River Rowing Regatta. It would be great to see as many supporters there as possible cheering on our boys, with events commencing at 8.30am. It is fantastic to see our boys participating in sport and benefitting from all that comes with it such as mateship, leadership, camaraderie, challenges, and sometimes that wonderful feeling of victory. This week on our BGM blog we have an article about the benefits of an active lifestyle for our boys, you can read it here.

To follow the live stream of the PSA Head of the River this Saturday go to http://4style.com.au/live/. We also wish our Water Polo and Tennis teams all the best in their important matches.

From Tuesday 3 April, the Preparatory School administration staff will be relocated to two transportable buildings located between the Blue Web playground and the Chapel forecourt. This will allow for the current administration building to be demolished and the construction of the entrance to the new Preparatory School. We anticipate that all demolition work will be completed by the commencement of Term 2. If you have any questions, please contact Head of the Preparatory School Mr Richard Wright on 9442 1666.

Next week we are extremely fortunate to have Melinda Tankard Reist engaging with our school community. Melinda is an author, speaker, media commentator and advocate for women and girls. I encourage parents to attend this evening event (register here), and I know that our boys will get a lot from her presentations to them during the day. Here is an article Melinda recently wrote for our BGM blog, Building good men by empowering boys to stand up to the mistreatment of girls.
