I know our boys are excited about Orientation Day tomorrow. As part of the welcome assembly I introduced a new teacher joining us in 2018. James Stanton-French will come from Laburnum Primary School in Melbourne and is well known for creating positive relationships with the students in his class. He is experienced in teaching middle and upper primary and has also attended three Olympic Games as the Australian Water Polo goalkeeper.
Two other leadership appointments for 2018
Ms Katie Andrew, our new Director of Pastoral Care, Planning and Co-curricular (Deputy Head), will join us as part of a career that has taken her from teaching and leading in schools from the Kimberley Region, to Hong Kong and the metropolitan area. She is currently the Deputy Principal at North Fremantle Primary School after holding a similar role at Beaconsfield Primary School. Holly Miller will move from the Director of Pastoral Care, Planning and Co-curricular to the Director of Studies role in 2018. Mr Brad Hilliard, will be leaving us, as he has been appointed to lead the Middle School at Wesley College.
Ms Rebekah Garwood, will join us from All Saints’ College. Ms Garwood was appointed to the role as Co-ordinator of the Early Learning Community. She will be teaching Pre-Primary in 2018 and will join us for Pre-Primary Orientation in January.
