Speech Morning on 1 December marks the end to the Christ Church academic year. It is a celebration of the year and particularly of our Year 6 boys transitioning to the Senior School. The entire community is invited to attend the event from 9.00am until approximately 11.00am, in the Chapel. I know many of our Pre-Primary to Year 2 boys will be in attendance with their families. Please remember parking is off campus.

As this is the final CCGS World for the year I would like to thank a number of people. Firstly, for tomorrow’s Pre-Primary to Year 2 Nativity, my thanks to Mrs Jenny Joseph, Miss Brooke Gonnella, Mrs Tina Dewberry and Mrs Kerry Maddern for their work in organising the ‘show’.

We have a number of staff finishing their time at Christ Church. Mrs Sarah Wallace (PP Wednesdays), Mrs Lissette Carey (LDC Teacher) and Mr Jack O’Keeffe (LDC Educational Assistant) leave us and we wish them all the best for the future, including a baby for Mrs Carey.

Ms Grace Curtis and Mrs Angela Anderson are also leaving us after eight and twelve year tenures. Ms Curtis was instrumental in the introduction of the PATHS program and Mrs Anderson supported hundreds of boys as an LDC teacher.

Mr Peter Williamson leaves us after a distinguished 38-year career at Christ Church. Mr Williamson has positively impacted the lives of thousands of boys and families over his time as class teacher and sportsmaster and we are all indebted to him for his contribution to the life of the School and community.

Finally, Mr Brad Hilliard leaves us to take the role of Head of the Middle School at Wesley College. Mr Hilliard has led the academic program in the Preparatory School during a time of great change. His advocacy for gifted and talented learners has seen the approach to these learners develop across the whole school.

We will miss all these staff, but know their careers will continue to grow and develop outside of Christ Church.

I take this opportunity to wish our entire community a happy holiday season.

Richard Wright
Head of the LW Parry Preparatory School
