I appreciated the engagement this week with the significant events of this School. Our Years 3 and 4 and Years 5 and 6 Swimming Carnivals were fantastically well attended by the community and I know the boys and staff appreciate the support. The final results and champion trophies will be awarded at Prep Assembly this Friday, however I want to highlight the performance of Lawson Kirby (Year 4) who broke two records on Tuesday. Records that had stood for 35 and 22 years respectively. We will also acknowledge Lawson on Friday as we enjoy celebrating the excellence of all boys in its various forms, at assembly each Friday – as we did with Jeremiah Wang and Tian Liang’s amazing piano recitals in Week 1 and 2 –  we will celebrate swimming excellence tomorrow.

I look forward to the selected team representing the School at the Junior Public Schools Sport Association Carnival (JPSSA) on 1 March where we have taken the title seven of the eight years the JPSSA competition has existed.

My thanks to the new parents who were able to attend the New Parents’ Dinner on Tuesday evening. I trust it was a valuable opportunity to meet other families new to Christ Church and I know my leadership team and I appreciated the opportunity to speak with the newest members of the community. I especially relished hearing about boys thriving and enjoying their new-found sense of belonging at Christ Church!

Finally, our Year 5 boys head to Kooringal (‘by the water’) from 27 February and swimming in the Murray River is a great way of ending the day. Parents of Year 5 boys are invited to the Kooringal Sundowner this Sunday from 5.30pm in the Chapel. You will hear from Ryan Myles, the Director of Kooringal Outdoor Education Centre about this camp and the outdoor education programs in the years to come.
