‘Building Good Men’ Scholarships
Christ Church Grammar School expanded its scholarship program in 2016 to include ‘Building Good Men’ Scholarships. These new scholarships replaced the former General Excellence Scholarships.
The Principal will again offer a limited number of these scholarships to boys who currently do not attend Christ Church, and who wish to enter Years 8 to 11 in 2018. There is no requirement to sit an entrance examination, rather a scholarship will be awarded on a boy’s application and a personal interview with the Principal. Closing date for applications for 2018 entry is Friday 1 September 2017.
The scholarships will attract a reduction in fees as determined by the Principal and will continue until the student completes his education at Christ Church. Continuance of the scholarship is subject to the recipient’s adherence to the School’s standard enrolment protocols and periodic review by the Principal in which the scholarship holder demonstrates consistent and exemplary standards of effort, progress, involvement, contribution and influence within Christ Church.
How to apply
The application should be completed by the student and his parents or guardian and include:
- A letter to the Principal, which clearly demonstrates the applicant’s talent in a range of co-curricular areas, his qualities of leadership, his willingness to become involved in all facets of school life and his academic potential.
- A copy of the applicant’s birth certificate.
- The applicant’s last two school reports and his NAPLAN (National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy) results.
- A character reference by a person (not related) who has known the student over time.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited, together with their families, for an interview with the Principal.
