The Ashton Family Indigenous Scholarship
Entry is open to all boys entering Year 7 in 2024
In 2010 former parents Ross Ashton and his family donated the Ashton Family Indigenous Scholarship to the School, to be awarded to an Indigenous student who demonstrates the capacity to develop the skills and abilities to provide leadership within the wider Indigenous community. The Ashton Family Indigenous Scholarship covers 50% of the tuition fees for a student joining Year 7 in 2024. Scholarships are available for boarding and day students and are tenable for the duration of a boy’s education at Christ Church.
How to apply
The application should be completed by the student and his parents or guardian. Applications should include the following:
- The Ashton Family Indigenous Scholarship application form
- Application for Admission (no fee payable)
- A copy of the student’s birth certificate
- Copies of the student’s last two school reports
- A copy of the student’s most recent NAPLAN assessment
- A recent passport size photograph of the student
- A character reference by a person (not related) who has known the student over time.

We encourage families to apply for Abstudy support or Madalah Scholarships which are made possible through the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
MADALAH Limited is a not-for-profit organisation that offers secondary and tertiary education scholarships for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, primarily from remote and regional communities, to WA’s leading boarding schools and Australian universities. MADALAH secondary scholarships provide support to students from Years 7 to 12. These scholarships are administered by MADALAH on behalf of the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA). We are a partner school with MADALAH and therefore enrolled students may be eligible. For more information please visit the MADALAH website.
