Perth(Inspired by William Blake) Diyoan Gajanayake, Year 8 I wander through Elizabeth Quay Where the ancient Swan does flow And mark in the faces that I see Marks of weakness, marks of woe In every cry of every salesman In every plastic souvenir In every voice, every car made in Japan Reminders of the end of the financial year Oh how the homeless cry The blackening politicians appalls And the red eye of the magpie Overlooks the shopping malls But most through Northbridge streets I hear How the youthful teens curse And the ladies who seem so sincere Go home to rehearse. Shane Andrew Lawrance, Year 12 Oft out the window he doth look And peers onto the world beyond. Courage never fails him, whilst All others dare not gaze away Move towards him and seek His glistening eyes upon thy Face – feel the experience burn In his eyes, an existence apart. Only he knows of before, Of the wonderful joys and Terrible woes founded then. Today there is none. None but in his eyes.
