Information about the various buildings, grounds and educational facilities at the Claremont campus.

Boatshed

This building houses the boats used by the Don Fraser Club. It is situated on the banks of Freshwater Bay overlooking the Swan River.

Bookroom and Book-hire Scheme

The School operates a book-hire scheme for Senior School students. Each boy is responsible for collecting his books before the commencement of the school year. The bookroom sells stationery, textbooks, calculators and cadet items.

Campus

Christ Church Grammar School is located in Claremont, Western Australia, approximately 5 kilometres from Perth CBD.

Canteen and Refectory

The Canteen, a service provided by the Parents' Association Auxiliary, is located on the ground floor, eastern wing of the Student Refectory, and is open daily from Monday to Friday, except on public and school holidays.

Chapel

The School Chapel is an iconic building with an outlook of the Swan River. It is primarily used for School events, assemblies and events for the wider community.

Classrooms

The Christ Church classroom is human, warm, comfortable and happy. It is physically and intellectually inspiring. Respect for teachers and students is paramount and there is an overwhelming sense of fairness and tolerance of individual difference. Our classrooms are places of discovery and fun. The atmosphere is safe, secure and supportive and there is constant interaction through questioning, teamwork and group discussion.

Design, Technology and Visual Arts Facility

The Design, Technology and Visual Arts Facility is a striking presence on Stirling Highway. Its contemporary design provides a perfect balance between the established heritage of the School and its promise to deliver innovation and modern technology to students and staff.

Futuresphere

The FutureSphere is a dynamic environment equipped with the latest information communication technologies for students and teachers. State-of-the-art facilities ensure a flexible learning space that inspires creativity, confidence and innovation.

Health Centre

The Health Centre caters for the primary health care of students and staff. When children of staff are sick they may be cared for at the centre during school hours.

Kooringal

The School's Outdoor Education Programme has its base at Kooringal - 'home by the water' - a fully staffed, self‑contained Outdoor Education Centre. It is located on the Darling Scarp, 110 kilometres south east of Perth and 15 kilometres from the mill town of Dwellingup. Set in the jarrah forest and on the bank of the Murray River, it is ideally located for students in Years 5 to 11 to participate in Adventure activities, Field Studies and School Community activities.

Library

The Senior School Library is an important asset to students and staff, containing vital resources such as an extensive adult and young adult fiction and non-fiction collection, journals, magazines, graphic novels, comics, audiotapes, CDs, videotapes and DVDs.

Music Department

The recently refurbished Music Department building has stunning views overlooking the Swan River. It is home to music administration, classrooms, a computer lab, keyboard lab, video facility and music library.

Old Boys' Gallery

The Old Boys' Gallery is a place for display of art works owned by the School, including items from the Foundation art collection. This venue is used for School exhibitions and has also been utilised for social functions.

Playing Fields

At Mt Claremont, three kilometres north of the School, there are eight hectares of playing fields for cricket, football, hockey and rugby.

Residential Facilities

The School’s modern residential facilities provide spacious and well-defined living, sleeping, study and recreation areas for the boys.

Sandover Dining Hall

The Sandover Dining Hall, first established in 1968, is the boarder's dining room where meals are served. It is also used for social functions such as suppers and formal dinners.

Swimming Pool and Gymnasium

A large gymnasium and Olympic-size heated swimming pool is the hub of the physical education program.
