The Deputy Head of the Preparatory School (Pastoral) is responsible to the Principal through the Head of the Preparatory School for overseeing the Pastoral Care policies and procedures and the planning and management of the Preparatory School programs and events.

This position will commence Term 1, 2020 or earlier by negotiation.

The role is pivotal to the pastoral care of the Preparatory School students and to the efficient operation of the School. It is a position that requires an exceptional level of knowledge pertaining to boys’ education, pastoral care practices and policies and organisational ability combined with management skill. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will be an astute manager of people, able to draw the best out of colleagues.

In addition, this position demands leadership and initiative for the benefit of boys and staff as the School pursues our mission and the current strategic plan. The Director will be expected to teach 12 periods per cycle (0.2 FTE) in an area of expertise and/or need, as directed by the Head of Preparatory School, and fully support the co-curricular program of the School.

All staff are expected to be enthusiastic professionals and to be in sympathy with the ethos of an Anglican boys’ school and contribute to the co-curricular program in a way that balances the needs of the School and the teacher’s talents and interests.

Temporary Position (Maternity leave replacement)

Christ Church Grammar School is seeking applications from dynamic, passionate and committed educators for this part-time, temporary position commencing Term 3, 2019 until the end of Term 1, 2020.

As a classroom music teacher, this is your opportunity to apply your love of music to create an exciting and vibrant learning environment for young people. The successful candidate will be an effective teacher able to deliver the curriculum in a creative and engaging manner whilst differentiating appropriately to engage students of all musical abilities. In 2019 this position teaches Pre-Kindergarten to Year 3. This is subject to change in 2020.

Fixed-term for Semester 2, 2019 with a possibility of ongoing employment.

Christ Church Grammar School is seeking applications from dynamic, passionate and committed Design educators for this fixed-term position commencing Term 3, 2019.

The Design and Technology facility is a purpose built, modern and versatile facility that provides opportunities for our boys to explore and develop innovative, enterprising and creative talents by designing and constructing practical products.

This position requires an educator with the ability to teach Design and Technology from Year 7-12. An interest or experience in Materials Design and Technology ATAR, Mechatronics and Engineering would be beneficial.

The successful applicant will support the ethos of the School, possess excellent teaching and interpersonal skills, will have an exceptional understanding of innovative educational pedagogy and show an understanding of boys’ educational teaching and learning practices.

It is an expectation of the School that all members of staff contribute to the co-curricular program in a way that balances the needs of the School and the successful applicant’s talents and interests.
