Our boarding community has been a hive of activity over the past week with the boys and their families taking part in many exciting activities.

Last week the students were treated to a visit from Ellen Gleeson, Dietitian for the Geelong Football Club, who spoke to the boys about healthy eating habits and high-performance sports.

It was fantastic to see so many families and invited guests along for the Walters Community Celebration Evening last Friday night. Attendees were treated to some exceptional musical performances from our Year 8 Rock Workshop band, Year 11 David Esterhuysen and Year 12 Reuben Brady. The student speeches on the night were also fantastic with Angus Park, Patrick Cahill, Riou Shimizu, Elliot Logan, Lochee Forshaw and Frank Stevenson reflecting on their experiences in boarding. The evening culminated in a community dinner in Sandover Dining Hall with our caterers treating guests to a range of food stalls and even an ice cream station for the kids (and some kids at heart)! The evening also provided a chance to thank and farewell Mrs Carol Campagnoli as she retires from her position as Housemother, with Mrs Kate Preston taking over the position.

On Saturday night a number of our Year 11 and 12 boarders attended Ambrose Estate at the Wembley Golf Course for the St Hilda’s and Christ Church Boarders’ Dance. The theme of the evening was ‘Dusty Boots and Op Shop Scoops’ and it was fantastic to see so many young gents and ladies dressing up in their ‘second-hand best’. The event was hugely popular and given great reviews by the guests in attendance, with a superb venue, music, and food.
