Despite the disruptions caused by the Covid-19 restrictions over the weekend our dedicated Army Cadets endeavoured to honour the tradition and sacrifice of our ANZAC servicemen and servicewomen.

On Thursday morning last week our Army Cadets supported the Dalkeith Primary School ANZAC Day assembly. Before the assembly they provided a guard of honour and conducted flag duties to an attentive audience of primary school students. On Friday morning two of our Cadets lay a wreath at the feet of the We will remember them statue that stands outside the School’s CLC building.

On the morning of ANZAC Day our Cadets observed the traditional Dawn Service – albeit under different circumstances. Although Covid-19 restrictions made it impossible to attend a traditional Dawn Service, the boys were not deterred and opted instead to observe a private vigil in their driveways in full uniform.

This act of remembrance and community engagement is one of the many responsibilities of our Army Cadets.
