Christ Church Grammar School’s dominance in the pool now extends to five years in a row.

Following a masterful performance at the Public Schools’ Association (PSA) Swimming Inters at HBF Stadium, the School secured yet another victory, meaning the Tregonning Cup will have resided in the trophy cabinet for a half-decade.

Final results on the night were Christ Church in 1st place with 1119 points, followed by Scotch (908.5), Hale (848), Trinity (806), Wesley (794.5), Wesley (660), Aquinas (657) and Guildford (385).

New records achieved by members of the School’s swim squad included:

  • Charlie Spencer’s time of 34.84 beat the PSA record of 35.78 from 2016 in the U/13 50m Breaststroke
  • Charlie Spencer’s time of 28.96beat the PSA record of 30.02 from 2020 in the U/13 50m Butterfly
  • Jackson Anderson’s time of 25.52 beat the PSA record of 26.51 from 2017 in the U/14 50m Freestyle
  • Jackson Anderson’s time of 28.68 beat the PSA record of 29.25 from 2011 in the U/14 50m Butterfly
  • Sam Hicks’ time of 30.03 beat the PSA record of 31.23 from 2016 in the U/14 50m Backstroke

Teacher in Charge of Aquatics, Mr Luke Farmer said the School’s swim squad demonstrated great form, and pointed to the number of new PSA and school records achieved on the night as evidence of the team’s performance on the day.

“The boys swam at an exceptionally high standard and represented the School with distinction. Of note was that our Prep School also won just a couple of hours earlier so all up an exciting day in the pool for the blue and gold.” Mr Farmer said.
