Christ Church old boys Richard Hassell (‘83) and Richard Pestell (‘75) were both honoured this term. During the Senior School Assembly both old boys received inductions from close associates within the OBA who nominated them for the honour. After being introduced and witnessing their Legend posters being unveiled the old boys both thanked the Christ Church community for providing them with an excellent education that prepared them for their career paths, as well as the ethics and life lessons they learned during their journey through the School.

Richard Hassell (’83) is an Architect and the Founding Director of WOHA Singapore. Mr Hassell is known in his industry for innovate designs which incorporate strategies meant to withstand the immense pressures of population and climate change in growing megacities.

Richard Pestell (’75) is an oncologist and endocrinologist, distinguished professor and president of the Pennsylvania Cancer and Regenerative Medicine Research Center at the Baruch S. Blumberg Institute. Pestell was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2019 for distinguished service to medicine, and to medical education as a researcher and physician.

Mr Pestell and Mr Hassell’s posters will be hung in the Maden Gallery where they will join other inspirational legends and where the boys can gaze upon them and learn from their ground-breaking work.
