Christ Church shines at State Cross Country Championships

Christ Church athletes delivered outstanding performances at the 2025 SSWA Primary and Secondary Cross Country Championships, held last week at Yokine Reserve. The events brought together the top runners from schools across Western Australia in a competitive showcase of endurance and determination.
A standout performance came from our Year 5 boys’ team – Matthew Dyett, Sebastian Lewis, George Browne-Cooper, Rupert Curnow, and Harvey Somic – who were crowned State Schools Sports WA Champion School in their division.
In the Secondary Championships, two students achieved exceptional individual results. Cooper Smeulders (Year 10) secured an impressive 2nd place, while Jackson Hill (Year 9) finished 6th in their respective age groups.
Cooper and Jackson’s strong performances earned them selection for the National Cross Country Championships on the Gold Coast in September. We wish the boys the best of luck.
