Year 4 dive into the underwater world at AQWA
Published on: 11 June 2026
Year 4 students recently visited AQWA – The Aquarium of Western Australia, where they explored the incredible marine environments found along our coastline and encountered a wide range of fascinating sea life.
A highlight of the day was the interactive touch pool, where students had the opportunity to gently handle starfish and learn more about these unique marine animals up close. They also watched as sharks glided overhead through the underwater tunnel, saw stingrays sweep past, and spotted seahorses drifting among coral displays.
As they moved through AQWA’s exhibits, students discovered how different marine habitats are connected and how each species plays a role in maintaining balance within the ocean.
The excursion brought classroom learning to life and sparked plenty of curiosity and excitement, leaving students with a deeper appreciation for the marine environments found just beyond our coastline.
