Christ Church and St Hilda’s Combined Concert
Published on: 26 March 2026
Student musicians from Christ Church and St Hilda’s Anglican School for Girls came together last Friday for the annual Combined Concert.
Held at the Joy Shepherd Performing Arts Centre, this year’s ‘Heroes and Villains’ theme shaped a lively program from the Symphony Orchestra, Concert Band, Chamber Strings, Big Band 1 and Choir.
Since 1988, this long-running tradition has brought students from both schools together and reflects the strong partnership between Christ Church and St Hilda’s. It also helps students build confidence, develop their skills and form friendships through music.
Highlights included the Romeo and Juliet Overture, music from Wicked and Pirates of the Caribbean, and the ever-popular I’m Still Standing by Elton John. Each performance reflected the students’ growing musicianship and the many hours of rehearsal behind the scenes.
Thank you to the music staff from both schools for their guidance and commitment in bringing the concert together.
