From sourdough to coffee: Barista Boys and Baker Boys team up
Published on: 13 August 2026
Freshly baked sourdough, delicious toasted sandwiches and barista-made coffee – all prepared and delivered by our students.
Recently, the PMC Baker Boys and Barista Boys teamed up for a special ‘Toastie and Coffee Sale’, giving staff the chance to order a toasted sandwich made with the Baker Boys’ homemade sourdough and a freshly prepared coffee, delivered straight to their door.
There was plenty happening behind the scenes. The Baker Boys planned the menu, created shopping lists, purchased the ingredients and baked the sourdough before preparing each toasted sandwich to order. The Barista Boys took orders, made the coffees and coordinated deliveries around the School.
From planning and preparation to payments and customer service, the boys put practical skills into action. They followed instructions, managed their time, communicated with customers and worked together, building confidence and independence along the way.
Most importantly, the boys could see their hard work come together, from the kitchen and coffee machine to a finished order at a staff member’s door.
It was a fantastic collaboration between the two programs, and judging by the response, fresh sourdough and good coffee proved to be a winning combination.
