Year 10 students prepare for Crossing the Fence
Published on: 5 November 2026
Year 10 students from Christ Church and Methodist Ladies’ College (MLC) came together last week for the Crossing the Fence Orientation Breakfast, marking the beginning of their preparations for the 2027 program.
Established in 2013, Crossing the Fence is a partnership between the two schools that gives students in Years 11 and 12 the opportunity to study subjects not offered at their own school. By attending classes across both campuses, students can access a broader range of academic pathways while building connections with students and staff from another school.
At the breakfast, students heard from current participants, met staff involved in the program and learnt what to expect in the year ahead. A tour of the MLC campus for the boys rounded out the morning.
Students at Christ Church have many opportunities to build positive relationships with girls from other schools. These include social events, the Service in Action program, clubs, as well as play dates for our youngest students. These experiences help students build meaningful connections, appreciate different perspectives and develop mutual respect.
