Rationalising of uniforms
  • The School conducted an audit finding more than 50 individual Physical Education and Sport garments.
  • The refreshed uniform reduces the number of garments significantly.
  • The refreshed uniform includes cross-over items that can be used for different sports, eliminating the need for purchasing specific sport garments.

 

Why is the uniform being refreshed?
  • To provide a consistent look from Preparatory School to Senior School, reduce the total number of unique garments across the School and maximise the use of new fabrics and technology.

 

Will the formal uniform change?
  • No.

 

Is the quality of the refreshed uniform better?
  • Yes.
  • The refreshed items are made using innovative and industry-leading materials, which results in an improvement in garment quality and durability.

 

Why can’t my son mix the existing Physical Education and Sports uniform with items of the refreshed uniform?
  • Students are required to wear either the existing uniform or the refreshed uniform.
  • Students may not mix garments from the existing and the refreshed uniform range.
  • The School will manage the transition by maintaining a consistent approach to student appearance.

 

Why has the price of some items increased?
  • The refreshed Physical Education and Sport uniforms are made using innovative and industry-leading materials, which results in improved garment quality and durability.
  • The majority of garments are of similar pricing to existing garments.
  • There has not been a price increase in the Uniform Shop for more than five years.
  • The pricing of the refreshed uniform reflects the materials used, and the general cost of school sport uniforms.

 

Has the School considered the cost impact on families?
  • Overall, the cost to parents will be less, with students from Preparatory School to Year 12 wearing whole of school garments such as the jacket, polo shirt and shorts.
  • Cross-over garments for Physical Education and Sport mean less specific sport garments to be purchased.
  • Pricing of the refreshed uniform reflects the materials used and the general cost of school sport uniforms.

 

Which refreshed uniform garments can be worn in both Preparatory and Senior School?
  • The jacket, polo shirt and shorts are consistent across both the Preparatory School and Senior School.

 

What is the final date students can wear items of the current uniform?
  • All students must be in the refreshed Physical Education and Sports uniform for the start of the 2028 school year.

 

Is purchasing a House Polo shirt necessary?
  • Yes.
  • Students in Pre-Primary to Year 12 wear their House shirt for House competitions and other school programs.

 

Can I mix current uniform garments with refreshed uniform garments?
  • No.
  • During the three-year transition, students choose to wear either the current uniform or the refreshed uniform.

 

If my son is in the Firsts Team, do I purchase his uniform?
  • Garments unique to the Firsts Team (jumpers, baggy cricket cap etc.) are ordered by the Sport Department and will be provided to your son upon being named in the Firsts Team.
  • These garments are then charged to your school account. Generic items worn by Firsts Teams (shorts and socks etc) can be purchased from the Uniform Shop.

 

Are we recycling the old uniforms?
  • Yes.
  • The School is currently discussing recycling options with a number of organisations.
  • Recycling will begin in 2025 and collection locations for the current uniform will be announced closer to the time.

 

How long can the current uniform be worn for?
  • There will be a three-year transition period – 2025 to 2027.
  • Students will need to be wearing the refreshed uniform at the commencement of the 2028 school year.

 

Will First Teams’ sport apparel be different to other teams?
  • Yes.
  • The Firsts Teams wear different garments ordered by the Sport Department and will not be available at the Uniform Shop.

 

Will supporters gear be available?
  • Yes.
  • A range of supporters’ gear has been developed and will be available for parents to purchase in 2025.

 

What second-hand current Physical Education and Sport uniform is available for purchase?
  • In Term 3 and 4 2024, the current Physical Education and Sport uniform will be available for purchase.
  • From January 2025 onwards, the only second-hand item available will be the track suit pants, which can be purchased for students to wear on school camps.

 

What new current Physical Education and Sport uniform stock is available for purchase?
  • The current Physical Education and Sport uniform is available at a reduced price until the end of Term 4 2024.

 

When will my son be able to try on items of the refreshed uniform?
  • The refreshed Physical Education and Sports uniform will be available for fittings in 2024.

 

When can I purchase items of the refreshed uniform?
  • Parents of current students will be able to purchase refreshed uniform items in January 2025.
  • The refreshed Physical Education and Sports Uniform will be available for purchased via the Uniform Shop’s MSA online store on 1 January 2025.
