The annual Ray House Run is an age-group dash around the Senior School oval perimeter. This fiercely contested this race is seen as the first event of the House Athletic Carnival. The standout performances were U13 -Will Rea, U14 Rhys Oxley, U15 Sam Brampton, U16 Jonah Hanikeri, U17 Christophe Gardner, Open Jack Crago.

The House Athletics Carnival, it happened! After a few years of uncertainty about this event due to weather and COVID-19, it was great to have this event run without significant issues for the second year in a row last Friday. The sun did poke it head out early and the condition were terrific for Athletics. With this carnival being the final event in the Beatty Cup (interhouse competition) a lot was at stake for the Heads of House and their teams. Leading into the carnival Craigie had the lead, with Jupp and Wolsey in contention for a podium finish in the Beatty Cup. On the day Jupp stormed home to be the winners with Romsey a close second. Whilst Craigie didn’t have the greatest of days on the track they managed to hold onto their slender lead and win the 2022 Beatty Cup from Jupp House who, for a few fleeting moments thought they may have snatched a miracle victory from Craigie.

This Sunday we celebrate Fathers’ Day and I hope that the fathers out there in our community enjoy their day. We certainly don’t need a special day to be engaged and proactive in our children’s lives, but it is always good to put some time aside to reflect on the relationships we are building with our children. As a father I am looking forward to taking some time out from the busy week to celebrate this day with my three sons and extended family.
