Welcome back to Term 3. I hope that you enjoyed the three-week break. I was glad to witness our students in good spirits and wearing their uniform with pride on Tuesday as they returned from holidays. It is always nice to catch-up and exchange holiday stories before settling into the routines of another busy and exciting term. The odd presentation reminder to start the term is often necessary, and parent support with reinforcing our high presentation standards is always appreciated.
During the holidays, parents will have received academic school reports. It is important that our Senior School students take the time to read this report carefully, and in consultation with classroom teachers, tutors, and parents, ensure any areas of improvement are targeted promptly for better outcomes. A review of their goals set at the beginning of the year is important, and for some this may mean re-stating these goals for the coming term. What is important is that our students take responsibility for their performance and constantly plan their time to be organised and ready to meet the challenges that lie ahead. The tutors are looking forward to the various conversations with you and your son at the upcoming Parent/Student/Tutor evening.
This morning, I spoke with our Year 11 cohort inviting them to apply for prefect positions in 2026. Should your son wish to pursue such a role, he will need to review the information on Student Nexus carefully, have a discussion with his Head of House and complete an online application form. We look forward to receiving these applications.
As communicated, the Senior School campus is now phone free. Students have been reminded that phones are to be placed in their locker on their arrival at school until the end of their school day / sport / activity. It was very pleasing to walk around the campus before school and during the days breaks and see students conversing with each other rather than with their heads in their phones. A reminder that should you need to contact your son during the day to do so via email or Main Reception.
