Welcome back to our boys and their families. The mid-year break provides a wonderful opportunity for boys to spend valuable time with family, to rest and to play and for our Year 12 students to enjoy some quiet study time.
Many Senior School students were involved in various Christ Church tours and camps over the holiday period including a Senior Cadet Leadership Course, an ICAS tour to the United Kingdom and the Senior Ski Tour to New Zealand. I thank the staff involved for their time and congratulate the students for the manner in which they represented their school.
It is most important that the school is aware of where all students are during the school day. If a student is arriving late to school or leaving early for any reason it is necessary that parents inform absentees@ccgs.wa.edu.au. In addition to this, we now require boys to sign in or sign out of school using the digital terminal located at Student Services.
Two reminders – this Sunday we look forward to hosting our Year 11 Parent information evening and sundowner in the School Refectory and on Monday, our tutors will welcome Senior School parents/guardians at the Parent/Tutor interviews being held from 3.30pm onwards.
The School is hosting a Boarding Open Day on Friday 9 August. Parents are invited to attend and hear more about the School’s Urban Boarding offerings which include day and short term boarding for Year 7 to Year 12 students. Boarding provides an excellent opportunity for boys to receive not only outstanding pastoral care but a place for boys to receive dedicated academic assistance, for this reason I encourage local families to explore how Urban Boarding could work for them.
