- Welcome back and Term 2 COVID-19 update
I trust that the term break has been a relaxing and revitalising one for all within your family.
Over the break some easing of COVID-19 restrictions were announced for schools and we are pleased to be able to conduct OQD and Kooringal camps this term, within the requirement of COVID-19 rules. These programs are a significant part of our curriculum with a focus on wellbeing and skills building, and I know the boys will be extremely happy that they are back on.
Updated COVID-19 information as at 20 April includes:
- confirmation that school camps are now permissible, with the School continuing to complete and implement a COVID-19 Risk plan and take additional steps to meet the Chief Health Officer’s requirements
- density and capacity limits continue and we will be reassessing all events based on the latest advice
- the close contact definition now aligns with National Cabinet’s definition
In Term 2 we will:
- continue to stream school assemblies
- conduct Parent/Teacher meetings online
- conduct school excursions and incursions
- implement RAT testing for specific programs and activities
In preparation for the commencement of the term we ask that parents continue to work with us and reinforce with your son(s) to:
- stay at home if they are unwell, have a sore throat, cough, fever or headache
- maintain good personal hygiene – including frequently washing their hands
- cough into their elbow
- wear a mask at School when in Years 3 and above
The Christ Church COVID-19 email has been re-activated today, and parents can email directly on covid@ccgs.wa.edu.au if your son is a positive case or a close contact and will not be commencing Term 2 on Tuesday 26 April. This email will continue to be the primary point of contact when notifying the School about a positive COVID-19 case.
The School continues to highly recommend vaccination of all students who are eligible and request that parents update Consent2Go with current details.
Thank you for your ongoing support and I look forward to seeing the boys return next Tuesday.
Kind regards
Alan Jones
