  • Academic Resource Centre opens
  • Diversity and inclusion at Christ Church
  • National Boarding Week
  • International Nurses Day

This week, we unveiled a new space within our Senior School campus, located above our Main Administration. The Academic Resource Centre (ARC) represents the convergence of the Information and Communication Technology Department with the Senior School Library, offering students access to a range of resources and services to support their academic journey.

The ARC will provide students with access to digital resources, research facilities, and training opportunities, facilitating a dynamic learning environment and importantly books. Additionally, extended opening hours for Year 11 and 12 students during the upcoming exam period will help provide critical support during this important time.

At Christ Church, we prioritise diversity and inclusion, ensuring that every student feels safe and supported within the school community. From hosting students, boarders and exchange students with diverse cultural backgrounds to ensuring our PMC students are members of the celebrations this week, our staff do an incredible job ensuring that every student and family is respected and welcomed. Diversity is central to Christ Church’s ethos, and we endeavour to ensure every member of our community feels safe and valued.

National Boarding Week commenced on Sunday and the School has been busy celebrating with daily activities throughout the week. Boarders are a significant part of the School’s fabric and this week provides an opportunity to acknowledge the positive impact and contribution they make in the Christ Church community. Sunday 12 May was International Nurses Day and I took some time to reflect on the contribution of our nursing team. Their dedication to our students’ wellbeing is truly commendable and their willingness to share their knowledge empowers us and strengthens our community’s ability to support student health. The team are constantly busy and to demonstrate what that looks like, on Monday the nursing team assisted 86 boys between the hours of 7.00am and 4.00pm!

This week staff have been receiving free Influenza vaccinations on campus as part of our Health and Wellbeing program. With winter coming, I encourage you to take advantage of the WA Government’s free vaccination program during May and June. Please click here for more information.
