In May, Head Swimming Coach Will Greenwood and members of the CCGS Swim Team will be in Broome conducting a swimming clinic for the locals. Christ Church has a strong aquatics program, and this clinic offers our senior swimmers the chance to develop their leadership skills while building connections in the Broome swimming community. Please refer any families and friends in the area to the booking page here.

The Senior School House Arts competition kicks off this morning, with students competing in a variety of exciting events including eSports, Chess, Jigsaw, and a Spelling Bee – with the last two being new additions this year. House Arts provides an opportunity for our students to showcase their talents and creativity in a non-sporting context, allowing them to shine in a different light. It’s always exciting to see the range of skills they bring to the table – whether it’s problem-solving, strategic thinking, or teamwork. The variety of talents on display is truly impressive and a testament to the creativity and abilities of our students.

Tomorrow, Director of Boarding, Todd Harnwell, and Year Group Coordinator, Tom Jerram, head to Wagin for the annual Woolorama. We look forward to attending this fantastic event each year, as it provides a wonderful opportunity to connect with local families, meet new people, and catch up with former boarding families. If you’re in the area on Friday or Saturday, please stop by the Education Pavilion to say hello to Todd and Tom.

I am excited to be joined this Sunday by members of our community for the Principal’s Bike Ride – a fantastic event that brings together experienced cyclist from our parents, staff and old boys for a morning cycle. Leaving this Sunday 9 March at 6.00am from Queenslea Drive, we will finish the ride and enjoy a light breakfast at the Refectory at the conclusion. There’s still time to sign up and join us, please click here.

International Women’s Day, celebrated on Saturday, 8 March, is an important occasion to reflect on the achievements and contributions of women across the globe and within our community. Students will participate in a variety of activities tomorrow to mark the occasion. As a boys’ school, it is essential that we actively engage our students in events like International Women’s Day. Encouraging their participation fosters a greater understanding of gender equality and helps cultivate respect for women in all walks of life.

Our summer sports season is reaching its peak, with the Swimming Inters next Thursday 13 March and Head of the River on Saturday 22 March fast approaching. Students have been dedicating themselves fully to their preparations, and we’re excited to cheer them on as they compete in these important events.
