Term 3 events
Parent Forum

Term 3 is always a busy term and boys will have the opportunity to be involved in several experiences and events throughout. ICAS Assessments, the Father/Significant Other and Son Sports Fixture, NAIDOC Week, Science Week, Book Week, Open Night, Grandparents’ and Grandfriends’ Day, the Year 6 Drama production and the House Shout will ensure boys are kept engaged. Please be sure to check in with your weekly newsletters and CCGS World notices for all upcoming events.

On Tuesday 1 August, the Parent Forum will be taking place in the Preparatory School staffroom. The topic for this forum will be: how boys are supported in the Preparatory School with their learning, with a focus on the different domains of the Prep School, including the Learning Development Centre, the Peter Moyes Centre and the Centre for Excellence. I will also be presenting a summary of our 2023 NAPLAN results. Parents are welcome to attend, and you can register your interest here.

The Western Australian Government, through the Department of Education, provides an allowance to assist eligible families with secondary schooling costs. Parents/guardians must apply for the Secondary Assistance Scheme (SAS) each school year (annually) – applications do not carry forward to future years.

To be eligible for the allowance, the parent/guardian must hold a Services Australia (Centrelink) or Veterans’ Affairs card that represents a statement of income for the family.

The allowance consists of two components:
- $115 Clothing Allowance paid directly to the parent/guardian
- $235 Educational Program Allowance paid directly to the school
An application is made by the parent or guardian for student/s enrolled in Years 7 to 12 studying a full-time secondary course at a Western Australian non-government school.

Year 3 2026 Uniform

As your son transitions into Year 3, he will require a more formal Preparatory School uniform. Please refer to the Years 3 to 6 Uniform list.

Booking a fitting appointment ensures families are assisted outside the shops normal trading hours, which enables staff to adequately prepare for the visit. Appointments take approximately 30 minutes.

If you are unable to secure an appointment, the Unform Shop will be happy to assist you in store during regular trading hours. We strongly encourage parents and their sons without an appointment to visit the Uniform Shop before the last trading day of the year.

Council Scholarships

Applications for the Year 7 Council Scholarships, 2027 entry, are now open. Each scholarship has a value of up to 50 per cent of the school tuition fees. A Council Entrance scholarship, while subject to annual review, is tenable for the duration of a boy’s education at Christ Church Grammar School. All applicants are required to sit a scholarship examination on Saturday 21 February 2026.

Scholarships are offered to current students of Christ Church and boys wishing to attend the School. All applicants will need to demonstrate outstanding ability and a sustained interest in Drama. Master Mind January Jump Start Program (Years 7 to 10 2026)

Master Mind is offering its January Jump Start Program. These group sessions aim to prepare students for the new academic year before the commencement of school in February. The subject-specific classes offer students a revision of those difficult concepts from the 2025 syllabus, which later become the foundation for the new work they will encounter in the new year. They also offer students a ‘window’ into the units they will encounter in term 1, 2026. Students in Years 7 and 9 will also be coached on how to successfully tackle their NAPLAN assessments that are scheduled for March 2026. The program also offers a six-hour Study Skills program and a six-hour Essay Writing class. More details are available on the MMA website here.

As students transition into Year 7, they will require the additional uniform items listed below:

To avoid the January queues, we strongly encourage parents and/or students to visit the uniform shop to purchase these items before the last trading day of the year.

The shop staff will ensure that sufficient growth room is factored into sizing the uniform items. Please note that appointment bookings are not required to purchase these items.

The Western Australian Government, through the Department of Education, provides an allowance to assist eligible families with secondary schooling costs. Parents/guardians must apply for the Secondary Assistance Scheme (SAS) each school year (annually) – applications do not carry forward to future years.

To be eligible for the allowance, the parent/guardian must hold a Services Australia (Centrelink) or Veterans’ Affairs card that represents a statement of income for the family.

The allowance consists of two components:
- $115 Clothing Allowance paid directly to the parent/guardian
- $235 Educational Program Allowance paid directly to the school
An application is made by the parent or guardian for student/s enrolled in Years 7 to 12 studying a full-time secondary course at a Western Australian non-government school.

Drama Scholarship applications now open

Applications for 2027 entry are now being accepted. Our 2027 Drama Scholarship offers a reduction of up to 50 per cent of school tuition fees and is open to boys entering Years 7 to 10. Scholarships are offered to current students of Christ Church and boys wishing to attend the School. All applicants will need to demonstrate outstanding ability and a sustained interest in Drama. Master Mind January Jump Start Program (Years 7 to 10 2026)

Master Mind is offering its January Jump Start Program. These group sessions aim to prepare students for the new academic year before the commencement of school in February. The subject-specific classes offer students a revision of those difficult concepts from the 2025 syllabus, which later become the foundation for the new work they will encounter in the new year. They also offer students a ‘window’ into the units they will encounter in term 1, 2026. Students in Years 7 and 9 will also be coached on how to successfully tackle their NAPLAN assessments that are scheduled for March 2026. TISC Application and Change of Course Preferences Deadline

The closing date to apply through TISC or change preferences for the Main Round of offers is Saturday 20 December 2025. Students holding Early Offers hoping to be considered for courses that are not Early Offer available (eg Medicine, Veterinary Medicine) will need to ensure they move these preferences up in their TISC application in time for Main Round offer consideration. The first round of Main Round offers will be released on Wednesday 24 December 2025. Please use your 2026 TISC Guide to familiarise yourself with important dates and to assist with understanding what action is needed in the offer rounds.

English Language Competency for University Entrance

The Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) provides an alternative avenue of entry to university for students who have not met the English Language Competency requirement. Enrolments can be made by completing a STAT Booking Form. There are deadlines to register for STAT.

ATAR Results Release Date

The 2025 ATAR Results will be released on Friday 19 December. Students will need to log into their TISC account to receive their individual ATAR results, as well as the SCSA student portal to obtain a more detailed breakdown of their individual subject marks.

The TISC phone lines will be open from 10.00am – 1.00pm on Saturday 20 December to answer enquiries. TISC advises all 2025 Year 12 students to log in to TISCOnline in the week leading up to results release, to ensure their user ID and password is working.

Access to the parent portal after 2025

We would like to advise parents that access to academic records on Nexus will cease towards the end of this year. We would therefore recommend that parents and boys take this opportunity to download and save copies of previous school reports and other records for future use.

UWA Engineering Excellence Scholarship

UWA provides this scholarship of $10000 to eligible high-achieving Year 12 students (ATAR of at least 90) to undertake undergraduate studies in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Combined bachelor’s degrees that include the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours).

Curtin Excellence Scholarship

The Curtin Excellence Scholarship rewards students who have demonstrated academic excellence through their ATAR in 2025 and want to pursue study at Curtin University. $5000 is awarded to students who achieve an ATAR between 96 and 98, and $15000 is awarded to students who achieve an ATAR of 98 or above.
