- Grandparents’ and Grandfriends’ Day
This week I enjoyed seeing our 2018 Year 12s finish (apart from exams) their schooling at Christ Church. It is wonderful that our Preparatory boys get to see the entire journey through the School. They see the ‘big boys’ as giant super heroes who help them to their class in Pre-Primary, they see them heading to Chapel, Sport and around campus, and see the Year 10s wearing hiking boots during Term 4 and learn about Venture. Now they see the Year 9 boys with the different ties that are presented during the On Queenslea Drive program. All in all, they get a clear picture of where they are going.
It was wonderful to watch the Year 12 Valedictorians on Tuesday evening. This group of Year 12s was the first cohort of four Year 4 classes (100 boys), so Preppies were very well represented. I enjoy watching the Preppies who received prizes and then the Year 11s who are elected as 2019 Prefects. Next year’s prefect group has 14 Preppies, including the School Captain and Vice-Captain both coming from the Prep School, again.
Tomorrow is Grandparents’ and Grandfriends’ Day, so I look forward to having the wider community join us. Please note there is no parking on campus, however drop off is available on Queenslea Drive and boys and staff will be on hand to direct our visitors.
